If you care at all about the people who fight the Iraq War then you will listen to this story about Robert Konrardy that aired on All Things Considered March 31, 2007.
I don't like using hyperbole because I feel it robs the true power of the words to use them too often.
So I'm going to use hyperbolic language because that's how it made me feel.
This was the most affecting story about the war I've heard with the possible expcetions of the two This American Life stories on measuring the casualties of the Iraq War. I said, "This is insane."
Once.
Twice.
Three times. Three times I said, "This is insane."
All war breaks its participants, some of them, without fail. I don't see the value of breaking more of our people for this. It breaks them and doesn't make us safer and it robs us of the resources we need to build a society that works for everyone.
Just listen.
I'll step away from the hyperbolic pump now.
